The late Hela and Haim Siman Tov's Farm in Kerem Maharal was established in 1952. Since then we have been dealing with the cultivation of wild plants of Israel. We were given permission to enter an exhibition in the 'Cultivation of wild plants, category in New York in 1958 and won Israel an international gold medal.
Today we are dealing with the cultivation and producing wild plants, seeds & bulbs of the wildflora of Israel. Our farm is 40 dunam, where we cultivate bulbs and wild plants from seeds until flowering, and beyond. On the farm we have bulbs that were planted more than 50 years ago and which are still growing today. We also save wild plants from areas that were designated for new neighborhoods, road-building, railroad tracks etc. We preserve the wild plants (that were saved from these sites) on our farm until the end of the project, then, we return the plants back to the area. These projects works save many species of wild plants from extinction. All our works are authorized by The Israel Nature and National Parks Protection Authority .
On our farm there is a Visitors Center. We offer a tour during which we learn about the importance of wild plants and how we multiply them . .December to May is the best time to come to visit us. However, we are open all year round Cost: 15 Shekels per person.
